Job Description
Description We are currently seeking a Bridge Engineer who will produce design and structural details for bridge projects in accordance with design standards. Knowledge of and experience with Caltrans, AASHTO, AREMA and other pertinent bridge design specifications is a plus. • Perform analysis and design calculations for all structural aspect of bridge and transportation structures. Typical bridge types include steel and concrete highway bridges, box culvert and railroad bridges. • Layout of bridge and roadway geometrics and detailed geometry control for structures. • Develop concepts and design of structural details for bridge projects. Steel bridge detailing experience preferred. • Develop construction drawings for CAD Technicians. • Develop project specifications and quantity take-off for bridge engineer’s estimate. • Follow bridge design plans to the field for review of bridge construction and design support during construction. • Review shop drawing submittals. • Other assignments as needed Keyword(s): Bridge Engineer, AutoCad, Microstation, bridge, engineer, planning, analysis, transportation, highway, structural. Requirements Applicant should have strong technical expertise for the design and construction of bridges. • BSCE required, MSCE in Structural Engineering preferred. • California PE required. • 6+ years experience in the analysis, design and construction of steel and concrete bridges. • Proven hands on PS&E experience in all aspects of bridge design projects. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, AutoCAD and Microstation. • Experience in using structural analysis programs and bridge design software. • Ability to produce under minimal supervision. • Strong communication skills and willing to work in a team environment.
