About the company: Our client is one of the major train operating companies in the UK. They operate services in over 150 stations in their respective area and with over 4000 employees emphasise how important employee development is, taking pride in their excellent customer service standards. They have recently signed to continue their franchise for a further 6 years from October 2010 and are currently in the process of a major reorganisation of the company. About the role: Our client is recruiting Conductor & Driver Line Managers. Within this role you will be responsible for: • Conducting weekly & monthly reviews including, but not limited to: o Staff performance reviews & development plans o Welfare & Safety issues o Disciplinary & Grievance procedures o Supporting the Competence Development Managers in maintaining competence in operational activities and others relevant to the Conductor/Driver roles • Maintaining or gaining your own competence in Conductor and Driver tasks and activities as well as additional requirements pertinent to the role of Line Manager • Driving a consistency in customer service standards for all train crew that: o Ensures excellent quality of on board announcements, both pre-recorded and crew-delivered o Provide timely and accurate customer information o Ensures effective ticket checking and enforces visibility o Provides and enforces a clear policy on appearance and presentation Required experience: You will have experience of working in a customer services environment, managing a minimum of 30 members of staff. You will also be able to show impressive results of adhering to budgets and productivity targets. You will have exemplary interpersonal skills and be innovative, creative, highly motivated and be able to interpret financial reports You will have excellent interviewing and report/letter writing skills A degree qualification would support your application
