Description:
Operations Support Specialist

1) On this massive and challenging program, the position will be part of the PB Program Directors staff in providing program progress and financial reporting and analysis; contract cost management; and report writing including extensive interfaces with the California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA)staff, PB staff located throughout the State, and Regional Consultants providing engineering and environmental services for the program.

2) This is an innovative railway program to introduce true high-speed rail transportation into the United States.

3) Reporting to PB’s Program Operations Manager, this position will have daily involvement with the budgeting, cost analysis, scheduling, progress assessment and. report writing of all aspects of the program work, including frequent interfaces with the CHSRA staff and the ten geographic managers located along the right-of-way.

4) The position is co-located with the CHSRA staff in its Sacramento, California office.

5) The California High-Speed Rail Program is the largest rail program in the United States – extending from Sacramento and San Francisco in the north to Los Angeles and San Diego in the south. The 800 route mile system is estimated to cost over USD 40 Billion with the first trains scheduled to operate in 2020.
Requirements:
At least ten years of experience on large programs and/or railway operations with sound understanding and demonstrated experience in business operations, budgeting, analysis and reporting. Must have demonstrated ability in use of Excel and spread-sheet applications

Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of program staff, both orally and in writing. A degree from an accredited university in either Business, Management Science or Engineering.

No professional licenses required, but a project management certification from either PMI, APMA or Prince 2 is desirable

Ability to work in this country immediately required.
