Job Description
Department & how it relates to the role The E&P Programme Engineering Team is looking for an experienced electrification design engineer to undertake design and support implementation of electrification schemes across the national E&P programme, with particular focus on electrification protection and control systems. About the role (External) The Electrification and Plant Design Group is looking for an experienced electrification design engineer to undertake design and support implementation of electrification schemes across the national E&P programme. Specifically, the role will involve: · Undertaking development (GRIP 2-4) design for electrification schemes, with particular focus on electrification protection and control systems · Providing specialist engineering support to project delivery teams · Developing, as part of a dynamic team, integrated protection and control solutions for implementation on Network Rail electrification systems · Fault investigation, analysis and problem solving · Supporting engineering design for conventional protection schemes The successful candidate will have a demonstrable background in electrification project engineering development and delivery, will be experienced in the design of modern electrification protection and control systems, with knowledge of modern substation communication architectures and integrated protection and control technology, placing particular emphasis on IEC 61850. The successful candidate will also possess the drive and enthusiasm to play a key role in this fast-changing area of electrification.
