Job Profile Hatch Mott MacDonald (HMM) is a leading North American consulting firm providing both public and private clients with planning and feasibility studies, engineering, program and construction management, and start-up and commissioning expertise for transportation, tunnelling, and water/wastewater projects. As the Engineer - Signals, you will be part of a specialized group of professionals providing engineering and construction services to HMMs regional and international rail and transit clients. Job Description As the Engineer - Signals, you will play an integral role in the development of detailed rail systems designs and project support for heavy rail and transit clients in relay based and microprocessor based signal systems. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: - Work as an integral part of a major project within the Rail Systems team. - Support the planning, design and implementation of railways/transit projects. - Manage delivery of projects to meet quality standards and procedures. - Liaise with other professionals and clients; communicate professionally, effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing. - Take projects from initial concept, through the planning process to implementation. - Participate in the preparation of proposals submissions. Candidate Specification The success candidate will have a minimum of one to four years experience in main line and transit signal systems, communication and/or traction power. The candidate will possess an electrical or computer systems engineering degree from a recognized university, and be working towards obtaining his/her P.Eng. and IRSE designer license. The candidate must be proficient in Microstation and/or AutoCAD and microprocessor technologies. The ability to work independently, have good written and oral communication skills, and work as a team player is important for this role.
