Invensys Rail North America (IRNA)

 

Headquartered in Louisville, KY, Invensys Rail North America manufactures "state-of-the-art" components for automatic grade crossing warning systems, wayside signalling systems and mainline and yard switch machine applications. Lead Project Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Lead Project Engineer leads teams through signal system control design and provision contracts for rail transit. The incumbent provides guidance and a technical framework in a manner that minimizes costs, maintains internal and external schedules. The Lead Project Engineer also has significant interface with customers in the areas of system requirements and problem resolution.

Responsibilities

 

  • Review Contract Bid Technical specifications and drawings for feasibility and compliance issues.
  • Prepare estimates based on Contract Bid Technical specifications and drawings.
  • Define design standards and materials for use by the engineering team to develop specific signal control sub-systems.
  • Create overall system design and sub-system integration plans.
  • Develop test plans and detailed test procedures for factory and field sub-system and system testing.
  • Perform failure mode analysis of circuit, logic, and overall system designs.
  • Provide coaching and training to engineering staff.
  • Insure man-loading, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Solve complex and unique problems and develop detailed action plans for their resolution.
  • Establish individual goals which are aligned with the Company's business strategies and objectives.

 

Requirements

 

  • Four year degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Twelve or more years of experience in control systems.
  • Rail industry experience is required.
  • Experience with computer based development tools.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
