Job Description: TranSystems Corporation - Transportation Infrastructure and Facilities - thats our focus. From infrastructure and facility design to computer simulation and economic impact analysis to finding alternative financing solutions for transportation projects - we do it. Our transportation specialists, located in offices across the nation, are unparalleled in the knowledge of the movement of freight and people, and unmatched in technical and managerial services. We provide full-scale professional services to both public and private sector transportation clients. This part-time position will include working in a team environment with project engineers performing alternative pavement studies, report generation and oversight reviews. (Alternative pavements include nontraditional asphalt and concrete pavement, such as pervious concrete, concrete and asphalt pavement with waste-stream products, pavers, etc.) Primary responsibilities will be preparing alternative pavement recommendations, compiling detailed construction specifications, and documenting best practices for trail, roadway, highway and rail projects. Other responsibilities could include preparing articles for trade magazines, technical presentations, and project interviews, etc. Candidate should be familiar with pervious concrete science and principles as well as other alternative pavements. Limited travel will be required. Analytical, laboratory and field experience in pervious concrete and other alternative pavements is a plus.
