More information about this job: Overview: The time is right to join HNTB Corporation! HNTB’s Washington, DC office is currently looking for a Resident Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of Roadway and Bridge Construction management experience to manage a large civil transportation project in the Washington, DC area. Responsibilities: # Responsible for overall field management of HNTBs contract, administration and coordination on highway and bridge construction projects of a diverse and complex nature. # Monitors activities of assigned staff for conformance with contractual requirements. # Provides technical leadership for complex or unique assignments. # Reviews drawings, specifications, and installation of constructibility. # May recommend changes to design. # Represents projects at meetings and conferences. # Read and Interpret complex contract documents. # Monitor Contractor progress and compare with reviewed Progress Schedule # Provides guidance and training to inspection staff. # Mentor and train staff # Administer JPIs and Budget Collect data to brief Client on Project Issues and provide possible resolutions # Review and draft responses to Contractors correspondence as required. # Prepare Summary Inspection Report of Daily Activities Qualifications: # Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or Related Discipline, plus 5-10+ years managing bridge and/or highway construction projects. # Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to receive in 6 months preferred. # Ability to manage people and delegate work to subordinates # Must be a resident or willing to relocate to the Virginia or greater Washington, DC metro area.
