Job Description

We are looking for a contract setting out engineer, to join us in our new project. The project is to install a new drainage scheme for Thames Water.

This contract will last for approximately 5 months.

Role Title: Site Engineer
Brief overview of the role and project: The day to day management of the civil site activities, including resource and planning of the gangs works, quality control checking and project reporting, setting out of the works to the construction drawings and recording as built information.
Accountabilities
1. Day to day gang management of engineering activities of a civil site in the water industry (Thames Water
2. Oversee the technical data issued and ensure high standards of service are maintained on time and on budget.
3. Management and development of sub-ordinates to ensure compliance with their roles and responsibilities.
4. Engineering, setting out of the whole of the works and checking that this complies with the construction drawings

5. Conduct as built validation visits to installation sites to ensure that installation satisfies construction intent.
6. Specific technical responsibilities:
• Programming and resource allocation
• Receipt and dissemination of clients instructions and document control
• Reviewing and authorising site Risk Assessments
• Specifying, Undertaking, reviewing and authorising surveys, drawings, designs and specifications.
• Responsible for signing of all required approval documentation.
• Site Meetings.
• Review tender outputs
7. Management and coordination of the production of as-built and Health and Safety file.

Knowledge & key skills
Essential:
• The ability to motivate individuals in a team environment to ensure safe and responsible delivery of service to exceptional standards.
• Experienced in implementing and maintaining HSQE and Management procedures & practices.
• Technically conversant with all relevant industry standards, specifications and practices.
• To have obtained recognised qualifications within a relevant field of expertise; e.g. Honours Degree, HND, HNC or similar.
• Excellent experience of setting out and survey techniques
• Clean driving license

Desirable
• Some Mechanical and Electrical knowledge
