SENIOR SYSTEMS ENGINEER

Invensys Rail North America (IRNA)

Headquartered in Louisville, KY, Invensys Rail North America manufactures "state-of-the-art"

components for automatic grade crossing warning systems, wayside signalling systems and mainline

and yard switch machine applications. These components are combined by our design and engineering

staff into interoperable signalling and communication systems for rail, transit and other market system

Senior Systems Engineer

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Systems Engineer designs, develops and tests all

aspects of a signaling system built to customer specifications and other contract requirements. The

incumbent assigns tasks and provides direction to technicians. The Senior Systems Engineer also

provides technical support to customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop signal circuit designs.
  • Design signal circuit drawing typicals.
  • Review project specifications and drawings.
  • Assist with preparing estimates for new projects based on specifications.
  • Analyze and review the design requirements to ensure match with customers' specifications.
  • Write factory and field-test procedures.
  • Coordinate testing and technicians during factory and field-testing.
  • Investigate failures with signal circuit designs.
  • Identify possible safety issues within the scope of the project.

Requirements

  • Four-year University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Ten or more years with signaling experience.
  • Experience in the Rail industry is required.
  • Ability to solve complex technical design problems.
  • Experience with VHLC, Autocad and Microstation CADD.
  • Knowledge of Ladder logic programming.
  • Very good oral and written English communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
