Job Description

 

 

SYSTEMS INTEGRATION SUPERVISOR- PATH

 

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is a bistate public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce, operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region including bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, AirTrain systems, the NY/NJ seaport. 

 

We are currently seeking a Systems Integration Supervisor to provide technical direction and installation support for the existing Power, Electrical, Communications, and Signal Systems and the new Automatic Train Control (ATC) System. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and integrating the new ATC System with existing and new Power Signals and Communications (PS&C) systems and PATH's infrastructure; ensure safety and continuity of revenue operations during construction; and compliance with industry standards and regulations.

 


This is a long-term project position located in Jersey City, New Jersey



RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Supervise and manage PS&C staff related to the planning, scheduling and assigning of asset maintenance, repairs, installation, construction, inspection, testing, operation, training and documentation of technical systems.
  • Ensure that the various mission-critical operating systems are integrated to function with enhanced safety and improved reliability and efficiency; this includes interfaces with the existing Unified Communications Network (SONET System), the new ATC System, the new PATH Train Control and Communications (PTCC) Center, the existing and new power and electrical distribution systems and related SCADA System, Access Control and Intrusion Detection Systems, other security-related systems, asset maintenance management systems, and other computer-based systems.
  • Design and implement systems integration processes.
  • Oversee staff in carrying out preventive technical maintenance routines, equipment repairs, testing, and new installations in accordance with plans and budget.
  • Monitor performance, quality and safety of work; maintaining records; assigning and directing testing and investigatory activities.
  • Conduct field inspections and site investigations. Investigate causes of malfunctions and respond to system audit recommendations.
  • Review design and construction submittals; plan for upgrades and modifications; prepare estimates, schedules, reports, and other documents.

 

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline.
  • Minimum four years experience in supervisory/management role in the design, installation, integration, testing, and/or maintenance of control, computer, and/or communications-related systems

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will present the following qualifications profile:

 

  • Experience in integrating systems and technologies.
  • Experience with automated diagnostic systems, including troubleshooting of system and process control issues, computer communications network, high speed data network, computer programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and isolate complex system level problems.
  • Knowledge of current technology trends, industry practices, standards and codes.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in previous work assignments.
  • Excellent oral and written communications and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively interface with internal staff, customers, partners, and vendors.
  • Skilled in problem analysis and resolution and project management.
