Job Description
Description The primary duties of the Transportation/Civil Engineer will be design and plan production for civil engineering tasks on a wide variety of transportation projects, including roadways, site layouts, and rail. Design elements will include horizontal and vertical alignment, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, cross sections and other associated civil engineering activities. Will be responsible for preparing and overseeing the preparation of various sizes of construction contract plans that may include specifications and estimates, as well as detailed engineering reports. Depending on level of experience, may also assist in the management of smaller projects as well as preparing scopes, budgets and schedules. This could include day to day communication (verbal and written) with the client, support and advise junior engineers and technical staff, write reports and technical memos, coordinate with sub-consultants, keep project on schedule and within budget, and keep client satisfied. Keyword(s): Transportation, Civil, Roadway, PE, EIT, Highway Requirements Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering required. 2+ years design experience. EIT required, PE preferred. Proficient with Microsoft Office, Microstation and Geopak, or other design software as appropriate. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
